Vice President

This position provides the right candidate an opportunity to assume day-to-day operational control over the agency's client service, team mentoring and training, financial performance and business strategy. Excellent advancement opportunity based on performance, passion and leadership ability. You'll sit in a cube, like the rest of us, serving as a daily resource for the account teams. Teams are composed of the president, a vice president, account managers, and admin/account coordinator support.

Responsibilities:
# Report to agency founder, president and owner, Mark Coker
# Directly supervise day-to-day activities of five account professionals
# Play hands-on role in client service and client interaction
# Mentor and grow every team member, set performance goals and conduct bi-annual reviews
# Supervise and support delivery of consistent, high-value and high-quality service to our stable of clients
# Supervise all writing, editing, program planning, reporting and invoicing
# Supervise agency's monthly profit sharing program
# Assign weekly hour allocations across team members and across accounts, manage productivity
# Lead new business efforts
# Conduct media and analyst outreach, leveraging your relationships

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
# 10+ years of tech agency experience, including experience as a vice president at a top-20 Silicon Valley agency
# Even keeled with a kind heart and firm convictions. If you have a mercurial or volatile personality, or if you've ever yelled at a co-worker, please do not apply.
# Inspirational leader and team player who understands that their success is defined by the success of their team members
# Excellent writing and speaking skills
# You want to find a long term home for your career
# Broad industry knowledge across storage, security, enterprise software and other technology disciplines
# Should live near Los Gatos (no long commutes)
# Proven track record of leading teams both small and large
# Efficient with budgets small or large - you know how to make every minute and every hour count toward high-value client results
# A track record of developing and implementing successful media and analyst relations campaigns
# Organized and disciplined with an impeccable attention to detail
# Analytical and creative.
# Empathic - you can interpret verbal and non-verbal communications of clients and team members
# A history of long-term client retention
# Strong, long-term relationships with top tier trade and business press
# Strong team mentoring and training skills - you can teach editorial calendar creation, account management, targeting, PR planning, etc.
# Creative visionary with ideas grounded in practical experience
# Confident but not arrogant
# Honest to a fault
# Enjoys the nuts and bolts of media relations
# Proven, successful track record of guiding an agency through good times and bad (anyone can preside over an agency's growth during boom cycles, but only an exceptional manager can lead an agency to survive and thrive in the bad times as well)
# Experience in investor relations and other marketing disciplines a plus, provided minimum 10-yr tech agency experience requirement is met.
# Completed a four-year college degree, preferably in business, marketing, public relations, or communications
